How is the SALSA Standard Changing?


From the 1st September the SALSA Standards are changing.  Here your key questions are answered:

1. Are all the SALSA Standards Changing? 

Yes! And we are also launching  SALSA plus Ice Cream and SALSA plus Beer plus BFBI

  • The SALSA Food & Production Standard is moving to Issue 6 
  • The SALSA plus Cheese Standard is moving to Issue 6 
  • The SALSA plus Beer Standard is moving to Issue 4 
  • The SALSA Brokers, Storage & Distribution Standard is changing in early 2023           

2. When do the new SALSA Standards Launch? 

All audits that take place on or after 1st September 2022 will use the new Issues. You can find copies of the new Standards here

3. Why are the Standards Changing?  

The main objective of the SALSA Scheme is to enable UK food producers to put Safe Food First. The revised Standards continue to be supportive and constructive and practical for our members. However, we have balanced the Standards, keeping pace with industry best practice, whilst remaining true to core values. 

4. Are the prices changing? 

No, prices remain the same. You can find current pricing here
